It was bigger than ever, it was as crazy as always, and we didn't get a proper night's sleep for a month. But as the fireworks extravaganza ends this year's Festival, one thing's sure...We'll do it all again in 2011!
And that's a wrap! The Edinburgh Festival 2010 is over... concluded by the traditional, spectacular fireworks display over Edinburgh Castle.
The 45-minute extravaganza - this time themed on the music of Hollywood - wowed the crowds in the city centre for yet another breathtaking year. The weather smiled on the sign-off event, which featured over 100,000 pyrotechnics including the now-famous "waterfall of fire". It was a fitting finale to another mammoth Festival, with over 3,500 shows and events clamouring for the attention of some 2 million attendees. The Fringe alone staged an astonishing 40,254 individual performances, featuring over 21,000 artists at 259 venues - all over a mad, mind-blowing four-week run. We at FringeGuru have one last piece of business to complete: announcing our Editors' Choice awards, delayed this year because one of our editors has fallen prey to the notorious Fringe 'Flu. And we'll be back soon to bring you up to speed on developments for Festival 2011... so if you'd like us to keep you informed by email, just drop us a line. Otherwise, we hope to see you in Edinburgh next August!
